Dedon, the first to weave synthetic fiber into luxury outdoor designs, the first to place an absolute premium on quality, the first to become a truly global brand setting the standard for woven outdoor furniture since its founding in 1990 by former professional Bayern Munich footballer, Bobby Dekeyser.

This unique, weather resistant and aesthetically refined fibre called Hularo is produced at the company’s North German headquarters in Luneberg. It was registered as an international trademark and was the beginning of an unparelleled success story of Dedon. Their vision was to create outdoor living rooms furnished with the same attention to looks and luxurious comfort as those inside the home. Changing the way people live outdoors and allowing them to enjoy more of life’s precious moments together under the open skies.

Born in France in 1966, Jean-Marie Massaud studied at the renowned “Les Ateliers Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle” in Paris. Massaud’s work has been honored with numerous prizes including the Compasso d’Oro (1995–98), the Designer of the Year Award (The Paris Furniture fair 2007), and the ELLE Decoration International Award (2007).
