Dedon, the first to weave synthetic fiber into luxury outdoor designs, the first to place an absolute premium on quality, the first to become a truly global brand setting the standard for woven outdoor furniture since its founding in 1990 by former professional Bayern Munich footballer, Bobby Dekeyser.
This unique, weather resistant and aesthetically refined fibre called Hularo is produced at the company’s North German headquarters in Luneberg. It was registered as an international trademark and was the beginning of an unparelleled success story of Dedon. Their vision was to create outdoor living rooms furnished with the same attention to looks and luxurious comfort as those inside the home. Changing the way people live outdoors and allowing them to enjoy more of life’s precious moments together under the open skies.
A man of many hats, Daniel Pouzet is an illustrator, architect, philanthropist and designer of everything from furniture to hotels – perhaps most famous for his designs for Dedon and the Omnilife football stadium in Mexico. Born and raised in Bucharest and a graduate of UP4 (Paris-Charenton), Daniel collaborated with Philippe Starck on large-scale architectural commissions before joining up with Jean-Marie. He has since worked on projects ranging from Renault’s architectural identity to the groundbreaking Chivas stadium in Mexico, all while touring the world for three years with his young family.
