Pedrali
Established in 1963 in Palazzolo sull’Oglio, Pedrali is an Italian company that produces contemporary design furniture for contract and residential in the headquarters of Mornico al Serio (Bergamo), where the automated warehouse designed by architect Cino Zucchi is based, and in the wood division in Manzano (Udine).
The collection is the result of a rigorous and careful research that is realized in the creation of industrial design products made of metal, plastic material, wood as well as upholstery.
A quality-oriented manufacturing process, with scrupulous sourcing of certified raw materials, research and true passion for cutting-edge machinery, step by step planning in every phase, with the precision typical of a craftsman: it’s this blend of elements that has made Pedrali a world-class creator of contemporary industrial design. These are joined by a profitable collaboration with numerous designers that has allowed us to achieve, over the years, important awards such as the Compasso d’Oro ADI for the Frida chair. Following the cornerstones of a 100% made in Italy production philosophy, the company’s activity, since the end of the ’70s, is confronted with the international market through a distribution network that reaches over 100 countries.
Patrick Jouin
Patrick Jouin was born in Nantes, France, in 1967. After graduating from the École Nationale de la Création Industrielle (ENSCI) in 1992, he started to design for Thomson multimedia under the Art Direction of Philippe Starck.
The designer founded his own agency in 1998 in the 11th arrondissement in Paris and in 1999 he met Alain Ducasse with whom he collaborated designing many restaurants such as the Alain Ducasse au “Plaza Athénée”, “Be boulangerie-epicerie”, in Paris, and Mix New York restaurant.
Jouin intend to revise the industrial culture selecting mass-industrial machinery forms – blast furnaces, turbines, chimney stacks, moulds, forges – and integrating them into the world of luxury.
In 2011 he won Compasso d’Oro ADI Award with the Pasta Pot designed for Alessi.
