Xtra Picks | New Year, New Colours to Inspire

An Unconventional Shade for an Unconventional Time

“Exuding dynamism, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta is a transformative red tone capable of driving design to create a more positive future.” – Pantone

At face value, Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Viva Magenta, is bold and dramatic. Beyond that, however, Viva Magenta carries a nuanced and profound symbolism of our collective energy to rally in the aftermath of the pandemic.

A colour that paints a hopeful and empowering picture of the new year.

Best described as an “animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and boundless shade that manifests as a stand-out statement,” Viva Magenta is as strong in message as it is in colour.

What better way to embody this ethos than to incorporate into our everyday lives with design?

To help you start this new year strong, here are our top picks of designer furniture fitting of Pantone’s Magentaverse.
